RUSSO -- Michael Anthony Russo, 87, went to join his Lord on Thursday, September 2, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Genevieve of the family home. He is also survived by a son, Ronald and his wife, Patricia; two grandchildren and their spouses, Heath and Kari Russo and Nicole and Scott Barzone, all of Long Island, NY. He also left behind three stepsons, Lyman, Paul, and Mark Gerrard; two stepdaughters, Tammie Gerrard and Sabrina Cassidy; two nieces, Anne Stabile and Marie Vagio; and one nephew, Peter Risolo. He was preceded in death by; his parents, Gaetano and Mario Russo; brothers, Daniel and Patrick Russo; and sisters Teresa Buli and Mildred Risolo. He lost his first wife, Ilsa after a prolonged illness. Michael was born August 18, 1917 in downtown Manhattan, New York. He had polio at an early age. Many surgeries followed but when grown, he walked with only a slight limp through corrective shoes. He attended a private school for the handicapped where he received an excellent education; was hired by American Airlines and was eventually promoted to management. He retired after 36 years and moved to New Mexico. He married Genevieve in 1986. Michael attended Tramway Community Church where Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 2, 2004, at 1:30 p.m. Cremation has taken place.
