MAEKER -- Howard E. (Buddy) Maeker passed away on September 23, 2004. Buddy was born on August 20, 1930 in Wilson, TX. He received his BA and MA at the University of Texas. He was an Educator at Manzano High School for 10 years as Athletic Director and a History Teacher. He was the very first teacher when MHS opened its doors. Buddy retired in 1985. he is survived by his wife, June Maeker; son, Chris Maeker; brothers, Orville, Wilburn, Ray, and Daniel Maeker; granddaughter, Shantele Maeker; grandsons, Courtney, Robby, Chase, Te-Amo, and Saje Haney; son-in-law George Haney. Services are pending.
