WOOD -- Catherine May Wood, 89, a resident of Albuquerque since 1975, died Saturday, September 18, 2004. She was born January 18, 1915 in the midst of a blizzard on a farm near a little town of Muscotah, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lida Boyle; sister, Dorothy (Russell) Farnell; sister-in-law, May (Gunnar) Benson; and most recently her husband of 66 years, Serpherness Henry Wood, who passed away August 16, 2004. Catherine is survived by four sisters-in-law, Adetha (Chester) Setterlof, Elenora (Vernon) Jones, and Alda Wood all of Onamia, MN; and Ayme (Elmer) Cain of Sun City, AZ; many nieces and nephews and other relatives; and a host of friends. At the age of 11, she moved with her family to Long Beach, CA, where she graduated from high school. She graduated from Nyack College, NY, where she met her late husband Henry Wood. They were married July 2, 1938. Her husband was drafted into the Army in 1941 and served for over 31 years. Catherine followed him to many of the posts where he served. Catherine was a member of the Protestant Women of the Chapel and taught Bible classes for Army wives. She was a member of Hoffmantown Church and a teacher of the Golden Circle Sunday School Class. Services will be Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. Interment take place in Minnesota.
