FLETT -- Louis Flett, Sr., age 88 passed away on Friday, September 17, 2004. Louis was born on November 18, 1915 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and became a naturalized citizen on November 16, 1942. Louis married the love of his life, Leona in 1946 and they lived in Erie, PA until 1980 when they moved to Belen, NM. He served in the military from June 6, 1942 until June 29, 1945 and served in Italy and North Africa. Louis received many decorations during his tour of duty, which include the European African Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon, a Bronze Star and a Combat Infantry Badge. Louis is preceded in death by his wife, Leona in 1992; and his brother, George Flett; and a sister, Phyllis Bunch. He is survived by his son, Louis (Red) Flett, Jr. and his wife, Barbara; daughter, Joan and her husband, Jeff Friedman of Dallas/Ft. Worth area of Texas; grandchildren, Ben, Sharon, Mark, Heather and Jolena; great-grandchildren, David, Amber, Chris, Andrew and Nicole. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at 9:00 a.m. at Terrace Grove Cemetery in Belen. Romero Funeral Home, 609 N. Main St. Belen.
