SCHMITT -- Elizabeth "Betty" Helen Schmitt, 79, died Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, NC. Betty was born in 1925 to Frederick Henry Juhren and Helen Elizabeth Pfadenhauer Juhren in Kings County, Brooklyn, New York. Called "World's Best Mom" by her children, she enjoyed singing in her church choir, reading, traveling and needlework. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 on Saturday, September 4, 2004, at Grace Lutheran Church, 5010 Six Forks Road in Raleigh, officiated by Pastor Michael Frye. Betty is survived by her children, John Schmitt and wife, Kathleen, of Plattsburgh, NY, Linda Holliday and husband, David, of Hopewell Junction, NY, Peter Schmitt and wife, Kathleen, of Raleigh, NC, Frank Schmitt and wife, Margaret, of Knightdale, NC, and Jim Schmitt and wife, Linda, of Havelock, NC; 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Betty was predeceased by a son, Paul Frank Schmitt and her husband, Frank Louis Schmitt.
