He was born to Teodosio Sandoval and Flora Martinez Sandoval in Martineztown at a time when New Mexico had not yet been admitted into statehood. He had nine sisters ad brothers all of whom preceded him in death. Ricardo lived in Albuquerque until young manhood when he went to California and enjoyed a career in singing and nightclub entertaining. Later in life he settled in Seattle, Washington and worked for many years at Boeing, Inc. before his retirement. He enjoyed music, socializing, puttering with building and mechanical projects, reading on a wide assortment of historical topics and playing bridge along with his wife of many years, Ethel Sandoval, who preceded him in death in 2003. The joy and pleasure he had for his family continued until the end of his days. His absence will be felt by his two children, Ricky Michael Sandoval of Palmdale, CA and Donna Rae Sandoval Bennett of Redmond, OR. He leaves five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, friends and acquaintances that enjoyed his love of life, his memories and his passion for New Mexico and America.
