RAYMOND -- Gerald C. Raymond, 92, a long time resident of Albuquerque, was born on May 26, 1912, in Newington Ontario Canada, and died on Wednesday, July 7, 2004. He had resided in Ogdensburg, NY, for many years before moving to New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth, and his daughter, Jackie Bigsby. Since retirement from the Albuquerque Transit Department in 1977, he took many road trips from coast to coast and across Canada to visit friends and relatives. Gerald will be remembered for his good cheer and lots of humor. Known as Grandpa to all the family, he will be greatly missed. He was a longtime member of Sangre de Cristo Catholic Community. He is survived by two daughters; Barbara Dagon of Dayton, OH, and Judy Schneider of Albuquerque; three sons-in-law, Bill Murphy of Dayton, OH, Marion Schneider, and Rick Bigsby of Albuquerque. He also leaves grandchildren; Shawn and Darryn Murphy, Misty Frank and husband, Kevin, Gerri Beth Morgas and husband, Albert, Rick Bigsby and wife, Leann, Marlene Swanson and husband, Todd, and Everett Schneider. He leaves eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews who reside in Canada, New York, and Albuquerque. They include Margaret Monnet, Diane McGillis, and Nancy Yingling. He also leaves a special friend, Mary Fuller, who now resides in Iowa. Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 12, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at Sandia Memory Gardens. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel on Sunday, July 11, 2004 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities, 2010 Bridge SW, 87105, or the Lovelace Hospice Program, 5403 Gibson Blvd. SE, Siesta Hills, Bldg. 1, Albuquerque, NM 87108.
