VENZUELA -- Dave Venzuela passed away unexpectedly July 2, 2004. His remarkable capacity to pour love on family and friends will keep this father, godfather and good friend alive in our hearts and memories forever. His intense devotion to God eases our pain as we know he is already in heaven. Born in Greeley, CO, Dave came to Albuquerque on military duty in the early 1950s. He was, as anyone who met him will attest, a colorful character. His unique personality made him all the more dear to us. He is survived by the two daughters, who were his reason for living, Leslie Venzuela Monaghan of Corrales and Denise Bentley of Phoenix. Also, by a goddaughter he loved dearly, Jamie Bailey; and the eight year-old best friend who brightened his life, Nicolas Bailey; sons-in-law Dan Monaghan and Rob Bentley; along with Marjorie Marler, Bobby Joe Marler and Nikkie Marler, have all lost someone special. His friends are countless, since they are virtually anyone he met across half a century in New Mexico. Time and each other's comfort will mend our hearts, but time will never fade our love and sweet memories. A visitation at Vista Verde Mortuary in Rio Rancho (Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln.) starts at 6:30 Tuesday evening with the rosary being recited at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass celebrating Dave's life is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Rio Rancho, followed by a military graveside ceremony at Vista Verde Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family requests prayers for Dave, and prayers for family and friends who must now go on without him. Arrangements by: Vista Verde Mortuary 4310 Sara Rd. Rio Rancho New Mexico 892-9920
