MILLER -- Raymond Alfred Miller, 87, of Albuquerque, was born on a farm in McGregor, Iowa, August 9, 1916 and died unexpectedly June 10, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Marybeth Miller; one sister, Harriet Staber (Walter) of Springfield, IL; and one-sister-in law, Lida Miller of St. Paul, MN. His nieces and nephews are Melissa Schiferl (Ronald), Beth Florey (Kevin), Marla Walters (Rick), John Staber, Danny Staber (Kimberly), Nancy Staber and several cousins, great-nieces and great nephews. Raymond was preceded in death by his brother, Kermit Miller, and his parents, Roy and Hildegard Miller. He enlisted in the Army in 1937 and retired from Army Aviation, as a major, in 1957. He became a corporate pilot and retired as Chief Pilot for Interstate Power of Dubuque, IA in 1981. Raymond was an avid duplicate bridge player and an ACBL silver life master. He was a life member of the Military Officers Association of America and the Army Aviation Association. Raymond was a parishioner of the Shrine of St. Bernadette in Albuquerque. Visitation will be on Monday, June 14, 2004 at 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in McGregor, Iowa. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on June 14, 2004. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Clair Miller, Lowell Siegele, Morris Weller, Danny Staber, Nancy Staber and Rick Walters.
