GROSE -- Robert M. Grose, Sr., 73, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2004. Bob was born December 20, 1930 the son of Leo and Elizabeth Brennan Grose in Wheeling, Illinois. He relocated to Rio Rancho from Des Plaines, Illinois in 1977. Bob was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He had been a Pressman for various Chicago papers. Bob was a member of the American Legion Post #118 of Rio Rancho, NM for many years. He served as Trustee for Americanism and was the Boys and Girls State Chairman. Bob was reverently known as the "Flagman" to many in the Rio Rancho School district. His goal was to make sure that each and every classroom in all Rio Rancho schools had an American flag proudly displayed!! Bob, we will surely miss you!!! He is survived by his loving wife Marilyn Grose of Rio Rancho, NM; his son Larry B. Grose and family of Streamwood, IL., son Robert Grose, Jr. of Florida, daughter Cheryl M. Stokes and family of Rio Rancho, NM; sister, Virginia Allen of Bensenville, IL, and brother, Lee Grose of Foley, AL. Cremation has taken place and Private family services have been held.
