LONER -- Lucy Loner joined our Father in Heaven on April 8, 2004, after succumbing to the effects of many years living with Diabetes. She was a life-long resident of Albuquerque; born on June 4, 1923 and reared in the Barelas community. She and her husband Frank Loner Sr. made their home in Albuquerque after many years in Norfolk, Virginia during Frank's Navel career. They enjoyed 33 years of marriage until his death in 1979. They were blessed with three sons: Frank Loner Jr. and wife Linda of Denver, Colorado, Rick Loner and wife Therese, and Joe Loner and wife Judy, of Albuquerque. Lucy enjoyed the love of her family and her four grandchildren Steve, Erin, Nick and Dominique. In 1990, she retired from the Albuquerque Public School System after 21 years of service in food services. Lucy will long be remembered for her love of her family and the many happy times she spent cheering for her sons and husband at bowling events, football, wrestling and baseball games. She too was an avid bowler and loved dancing at the Bear Canyon Sr. Center where she spent many happy times with Charlie Ewing and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Connie Sanchez de Marino and Joe Marino Sr., and bothers Leo and Richard. She is survived by half-sisters and -brothers Margaret Storks, Liz and Earl Perry, Danny and Irene Marino all of Albuquerque, Joe and wife Gwen Marino of Los Angeles, California. She resided at Carestone Assisted Living since 2001. The family wishes to express their appreciation for the loving care that Carestone staff provided her in these past years. Rosary will be recited on Monday, April 12, 2004, at 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. The Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. at the Gate of Heaven Chapel, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE with Father Richard Olona, Celebrant. Interment to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Friends may visit at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel on Monday, April 12, 2004, from 5:00 p.m. until Rosary.
