LOVETT -- Elizabeth Jeanne Baker Lovett, 73, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2004 after a long battle with cancer. Originally born in Durango CO, she graduated from the University of Toledo in Ohio and moved to New Mexico in 1956 and then settled in Belen in 1962. Her family owned and operated Lovett Insurance Agency in Belen. She dedicated much of her time to community activities and charities including Girl Scouts, Rainbow for Girls, Pilot Club, and Chi Omega Sorority. She was preceded in her journey home by her parents, Dr. George L. and Isabelle Baker. She will always be loved and missed by her daughter. Deborah and husband. Steve Schneider; grandsons, Collin and Kyle of Albuquerque; a son, Mark Lovett; and granddaughters, Crystal and Desirree of Belen. She will also be cherished by four nephews; five nieces; and a special nephew, Rick Baker of Las Vegas Nev. and many dear friends. Especially Janelle Brooks and Jill Preiser who helped in so many ways during her illness. Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2004 at First Presbyterian Church in Belen; located at 85 Manzano Expressway Belen, NM, 864-4560. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Direct Services are handling arrangements.
