PERSON -- Juanita Elaine Schmaling Person, passed away on February 24, 2004. She was the beloved mother of Laine Heiser of Albuquerque, Korin Heiser of Boston, MA, Lisa Taylor of Vermont, and Lisa Taylor Person of Albuquerque; and beloved grandmother of Thompson (T.J.) Potter, Francesca Caruso, Abigail Caruso all of Boston, MA; beloved sister to Betty Jean Bardorf and Jeffries Schmaling of Fairfield, CT; she also leaves behind her beloved dogs Noah, Baron, and Augie, her constant companions at home. Elaine was born in Port Chester, NY, December 15, 1921. She grew up in Fairfield, CT, where she met and married Stephen Paul Heiser, they were high school sweethearts. She went to the College of New Rochelle as a nursing student. "Elaine" to many, and affectionately "Mommy" to so many friends, she moved to Albuquerque just two years ago to retire. She fell in love with our beautiful mountains and the wonderful open countryside. She was blessed by a wonderful happy, spirited love of life, people and animals. Everyone loved her as she was the perfect lady, as her very early Fredericksburg Virginia roots prove. A true southern lady, exquisite in her taste and the kind and gentle way she treated everyone she met. She is missed by all of us and remains in our hearts forever. A Visitation will be held on Friday, February 27, 2004 at the First Unitarian Church, at the corner of Carlisle and Comanche, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Services will follow at 5:00 p.m., at the First Unitarian Church, with Pastor Eve Ceskava officiant. A reception will take place at 6:00 p.m. when services conclude. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made on Elaine Persons behalf to either the Alzheimer's Association, 8100 Mountain Rd.
