GOOMBI -- Bessie Vergus Archambeau Goombi, 95, a resident of Albuquerque since 1994, devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend was called home to be with our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, February 18, 2004. She was born July 1, 1908 to Charles and Katie Archambeau near Bartlesville, OK. In 1932, Bessie married Robert Goombi in Mountain View, OK where she resided until 1994. She is survived by her sister, Frances J. Pruner of Albuquerque; sons, Robert L Goombi and wife Katherine of Eudora, KS, Wesley C. Goombi and wife Annie Bell of Mountain View, OK, James M. Goombi and wife Judy of Broken Arrow, OK and William W. Goombi and wife Juanita of Wagoner, OK; daughters, Frances L. Tsoodle and husband Wendell, Irene L. Johnson and husband Harold Jr., all of Albuquerque, and Katie I. Goombi of Mountain View, OK; daughter-in-law, Patricia A. Goombi of Anadarko, OK; 33 grandchildren and spouses; 73 great-grandchildren and spouses; 5 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and close family friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Goombi; son, Lloyd G. Goombi; parents, Charles and Katie Archambeau; brother, Lawrence Archambeau; sister, Irene Powell; and mother-in-law, Lillian Hunt. Services will be held Friday, February 20, 2004, 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel with Rev. Frank Evans officiating. Pallbearers will be Ronald L. Goombi, Wendell D. Tsoodle, Jr., Thomas W. Goombi, Lemuel A. Johnson, Michael C. Goombi, Jason R. Goombi, William "Billie" W. Goombi, and Kendall R. Whitehorse. Interment will be Monday, February 23, 2004 in the Rainy Mountain Kiowa Cemetery, Mountain View, OK.
