BROWN -- Grace Michael Brown, 1919-2004, passed away in Birmingham, Alabama, on Tuesday, February 3, 2004 at age 84. She was born in Merrill, Michigan. In 1939, she married Lloyd Brown who predeceased her after nearly 55 years of marriage. They lived for many years in Albuquerque where Mrs. Brown was employed by the Albuquerque Public Schools System. She relocated to Birmingham in 1999. Survivors include sons, Michael (Joan) of Hoover, Alabama and Daniel of Albuquerque; daughters, Peggy Lane (Robert) of Clanton, Alabama, and Sheri McLaughlin of Haltom City, Texas; grandchildren, Melissa Russell, Loren Brown, Robby Lane, William Brown, Tierney McLaughlin, Michael Brown and Trevin McLaughlin. She also leaves her great-grandchildren, Jacob Lloyd Brown, Evan Russell, Grayson Russell and Lindley Grace Lane. Mrs. Brown was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Hoover, Alabama, and was a community volunteer through Sierra Vista and Shades Valley Civitan Clubs. Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated at Prince of Peace Church, 4600 Moss Creek Blvd., Hoover, AL 35226, on Saturday, February 7, 2004. A Memorial Service will also be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Chapel, 7500 Paseo Del Norte NE in Albuquerque on Saturday, February 14, at 11:00 a.m., with inurnment to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Prince of Peace Parish building fund or to the Civitan International Foundation, P.O. Box 130744, Birmingham, AL 35213-0744.
