HUGHES -- Jean G. Hughes, 63, a resident of Albuquerque since 1982, passed away suddenly from cancer on Friday, February 6, 2004. Jean and his twin brother, Jay, were born July 28, 1940, to Jim and Helen Hughes of Raytown, MO. Jean graduated in 1962 from Central Missouri State College with a bachelor degree in Business Administration. He then entered the Navy and served on the U.S.S. Constitution as well as other duty stations from 1963 to 1966. After an Honorable discharge, Jean joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation where he served for 25 years, retiring in 1990. In 1967, Jean married Elaine Alford of Cincinnati, Ohio (later divorcing). They had three children; Michael, Lisa and Kira and in 2002 Jean became a grandfather to his only grandchild, Gillian. He was a wonderful and loving "Pappy" to Gilli. During his retirement years, Jean became active in Cowboy Action Shooting and founded the Rio Grande Renegades Shooting Club. Jean was preceded in death by his parents and brother. He will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
