HOUSTON -- Gilbert James Houston had many friends and relatives who cared for him. He was the most caring person you could ever meet. He had a personality that some people envied. He made you feel that you were someone special, he was never angry; he always had a smile on his face and he always had a joke about everything in life. His hopes and dreams for his family and himself were to accomplish a better life no matter how hard it was, he never gave up. He was a fighter and had a determined mind. Gilbert was born on October 8, 1982 and died on January 31, 2004. He is survived by Rebecca and Calletano Rodriguez; his fiancee, Mickie James; and siblings, Latoya Houston, Shantel Rodriguez, Leroy Mascarenias, Kathy Rodriguez, Dion Rodriguez, Orlando Hernandez, Breana Hernandez, Nathan Jenson, Misty Hernandez, Angelo and Karen Hernandez; grandmothers, Josie Lopez and Katy Rodriguez. Gilbert has many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces. A Viewing will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2004, 6:00 p.m. at the Church on the Rock, 5300 Second St. NW. A Mass will be held Friday, February 6, 2004, 10:00 a.m. also at the Church on the Rock. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery on Yale. Pallbearers will be Erroll Hernandez, Jeremy Salgato, James Salgato, David Houston, Robert Houston, James Houston and Sef Houston.
