CHAVEZ -- Pete Chavez passed away peacefully on January 20, 2004 after a courageous battle with cancer. His was a life of beauty, courage and love. He is survived by his wife, Mary Chavez; his children and stepchildren, Steven Chavez and wife, Kathy; daughter, Susan Chavez, Edward Chavez and wife, Geraldine, Anthony Yardman and wife, Felisha, Joseph Trujillo and wife, Desiree and Victoria Trujillo and granddaughter, Jessica. He is also survived by his father and mother, Ernest and Lucia Chavez; brother, Arthur Chavez and wife, Flora; sister, Kathy Torres and husband, Robert; nieces, Sandy, Rosa, Renee and Elizabeth; and nephew, Jonathan; and many other family members and friends. Pallbearers will be Angelo Sanchez, Edward Chavez, Ricardo Munoz, Anthony Yardman, Bobby Tafoya and Joseph Trujillo. The family is staying at 6615 Isleta Blvd. SW. A Rosary for Mr. Chavez will be recited on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Church of the Ascension. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 26, 2004 at the Church of the Ascension where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements by: Salazar & Sons Mortuary 400 Third St. SW 247-4124
