LOPEZ -- Fernando (Fred) Reyes Lopez died January 13, 2004 at the Colorado Veterans Nursing Home. Mr. Lopez was honorably discharged after his service in the US Army. He retired from Sandia National Laboratory after serving 33 years as a Security Officer. Mr. Lopez was also the past Commander of Albuquerque American Legion Post 13. He is survived by sons, David P. Lopez, and Phillip R. Lopez and wife, Priscilla; grandchildren, David V. Lopez, Amanda E. Lopez, Galen P. Lopez, Jessi Marie Lopez, Justin Wesbrook and Jami Lopez. He was preceded in death by his father, Maximiano Lopez in 1966; his mother, Lucinda Chavez Lopez on January 2, 2004; and his brother, Carlos in 2001. Cremation has taken place. A military service will take place at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe on January 23, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. After the service there will be an open house for family and friends at 4904 Laurene Ct. NW.
