VAN OMEN -- Lt. Commander Scott Alan Van Omen, Public Health Service, 47, died on Thursday, January 8, 2004. Scott was born in Holland, Michigan on January 27, 1956 and has served the past 15 years as a Commissioned Corps Officer in the U.S. Public Health Service. He has worked as a registered nurse at the Acoma-Canoncito Laguna Indian Hospital since February 1996. Scott was a graduate of Holland Christian High School and attended Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He holds a Nursing Degree from UNM. Scott is survived by his wife, Jackie (Huff) Van Omen; children, Alan John, Caleb Lee, Camille Joy; parents, Dale and Shirley Van Omen of Zeeland, MI; brothers, Victor Van Omen and wife, Yosh, James Van Omen and wife, Pat, all of Zeeland, MI, Eric Van Omen and wife, Carol, of Jenison, MI; and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Ann Van Omen. Services will take place on Monday, January 12, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. at Hoffmantown Church, 8888 Harper NE, with Pastor Ken Moore officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery with full military honors. Pallbearers will be Greg Christiansen, Victor Van Omen, James Van Omen, Eric Van Omen, Monte Huff, and Tony Huff.
