AGUILAR -- Antonio Aguilar, 94, a resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, January 9, 2004. He is survived by his daughters, Emilia Brudos and husband, Ken, Anna Martinez and husband Isabro, Julie Aragon and husband, John, of Albuquerque, Rosa Horcasitas and husband, Ray, of Rio Rancho; sons, David Aguilar and wife, Vickie, of Gilbert, Arizona, and Tony Aguilar and wife, Esther, of Belen; 26 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Avelina, in June, 1983; son, Richard Aguilar in November,1985; granddaughter Rachel Brudos Vance in March, 1997; brother, Pat Aguilar; and sisters, Otilia Gonzalez and Claudina Montano. Mr. Aguilar was born in Anton Chico, New Mexico, on June 17, 1909, where he grew up on his father's ranch. He was a rodeo cowboy as a young man. He married Avelina Jaramillo in March, 1935, and moved to Vaughn, New Mexico in 1938. He was a self-employed truck driver and carpenter and built his own house in Vaughn. Mr. Aguilar then moved to Albuquerque where he worked as a contract mail carrier until he retired. He always told his family he was a jack-of-all-trades and a master-of-none but to his family, he was a master-of-all. Mr. Aguilar was a beloved father and grandfather who was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. Rosary will be recited Monday, January 12, 2004 at 8:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Chapel 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE with his niece Jane Madrid reciting. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, January 13, 2004, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, Lomas and Tennessee NE, with Father Michael Cimino, Celebrant. Interment will take place in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be George Brudos, Stephen Aguilar, Robert Martinez, Michael Horcasitas, Rick Aguilar, John David Aragon, and Phillip Aguilar. Honorary pallbearers are the rest of his grandchildren. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Monday, January 12, 2004, 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. French Mortuary 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE 275-3500
