WARD -- Superintendent Leon Ward, 86, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away December 24, 2003. Because of health reasons, Superintendent Ward and his beloved wife, Nettie, moved to Albuquerque in 2002 to be near his children. While in Albuquerque, he was appointed Associate Pastor of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ under Superintendent Doctor Samuel Gilmore. He will be remembered by all as one of the kindest men, whose concern for everyone should be commended. He is survived by his wife, Nettie; five children, Leon W., Lee, Gene, Marie and Gerald; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and a number of adoptive children. He was preceded in death by a son, Leon Jr. There will be no local services for Superintendent Ward, as his body will be shipped back to his native Knox City, Texas for services and interment.
