WASH -- Bernice Wash, 82 passed away quietly in her sleep on the Hospice Unit at Kaseman Presbyterian Hospital on December 18, 2003. She was a long time resident of Albuquerque and of New Mexico. She was born Mississippi, moved to Datil, NM in 1952, Magdalena, NM in 1958 and to Albuquerque in 1969. She is survived by her nine children, Wendell Wash and his wife Linda, Helen Asbury and her husband Claude, Benjamin Wash and his wife Yolanda, Mary Wash, Vardaman Wash, Jr. and his wife Yvonne, Debra Wash, Angelia Wash, Constance Wash and her Fiancee Greg Ward, Kimberly Cross and her husband Darry, 20 grand children and 14 great grand children as well as a host of family and friends. Bernice was well loved by her family, friends, community and church. She was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Albuquerque, NM. She is preceded in death by the husband, Vardaman Wash Sr., her daughter, Ermatean Johnson, her parents, B.C. and Lardie Thomas, her granddaughter, Tiffany Wash and her great granddaughter, Morgan Crawford. We would like to thank everyone who shared precious time and moments with Bernice throughout her life and especially all the children. The family would also like to thank the Kaseman Presbyterian Hospice Home Care and Inpatient Unit for all of their kindness and care during her illness. The memorial services will be held at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church located on 2401 University Blvd.,SE on December 23, 2003 at 11:00 a.m., with the viewing of her body at 10:30-11:00 a.m. The interment will be the Fairview Cemetery located on 700 Yale SE.
