LOWTHER -- Dale Raymond Lowther, 85, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, December 13, 2003. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Varie A. Lowther of Albuquerque; three sons, Roger L. Lowther and wife, Janet of Lexington, MA, Jack L. Lowther and wife, Cindy of Purcellville, VA and Robert D. Lowther of Albuquerque; grandsons, Roger Warren Lowther and wife, Abi and Flynt Lowther; granddaughters, Janet Lynn Lowther, Kim Lowther and husband, Craig Kuhn, Angelique Oliver and husband, David; three great-grandchildren; two nieces; and a half-brother, Richard Lowther and wife, Judy and a half-sister, Laura Snyder and husband, Larry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mary Lowther and brothers, Walter and Ralph Lowther. Dale was born and raised in Cardington, OH and graduated from Cardington High School. He graduated from The Ohio State University and later received his Masters from George Washington University. Dale was called to serve his country in August of 1941 and served 28 years in the U.S. Air Force in the United States, Hawaii, Germany and Turkey; then, retired at Kirtland AFB. After retirement, he served as Controller of Singer Frieden Corp. for 3 years and Financial Manager and Auditor of the City of Albuquerque for 10 years. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2003, at 11:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
