GROEPLER -- Sandra Robertson Groepler. A Private Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Mrs. Groepler, 62, of Florence, died Saturday, October 18, 2003 at her residence from complications associated with primary pulmonary hypertension. She was born August 1, 1941, in Utica, NY, the daughter of the late Wesley Robertson and Bette Rogers Robertson Mahardy. She was predeceased by three neices, Kimberlee, Kelly Erin and Karilynn Steciak. Mrs. Groepler retired from Honeywell Corp. after 33 years of service. During those years what started out as Remington Rand went through various name changes including UNIVAC and Sperry. She reloacated from Ilion/Utica, NY to Blue Bell, PA., Eagan, MN and finally to Albuquerque, NM. Through the many moves she attended college at night, eventually becoming a General Accounting Supervisor. She was active in the national organization for boating education, the United States Power Squadron. She served was a past Secretary and Treasurer for Beaufort Sail and Power Squadron. She also was the past Editor of Fox Tales newsletter for Swamp Fox Squadron. She was a member of Yucca Temple #74 Daughters of the Nile. Surviving are her husband, Kurt Groepler; brothers, James H. (Helga) Robertson and Michael W. (Frances) Robertson both of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Barbara R. (Peter) Steciak of Dolgeville, NY; two nieces and one nephew; step-sons, Kurt R. (Donna) Groepler of Billings, MT, James E. (Jean) Groepler of Bucksport Marina, SC; and stepgrandchildren, Katie (Craig) Kehrwald and James L. Groepler Her smile and positive attitude touched the hearts and lives of many people over the years who will dearly miss her. Cain Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
