COMSTOCK -- Fred G. Comstock, 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1949, died Sunday, October 12, 2003. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty of the family home; sons, Mark Comstock and wife, Dana, Gary Comstock, Roger Comstock and wife, Cyndi and Robert Comstock, all of Albuquerque; daughter-in-law, Katherine Comstock of Denver, CO; and grandchildren, Cristin Comstock of Dallas, TX, Joseph Comstock of San Diego, CA, Michael Comstock, Megan Comstock, both of Denver, CO, Jeffrey Comstock of Anacortes, WA, Riley Comstock and Ryan Comstock, both of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his son, Curtis Comstock. Fred joined the Masonic Lodge June 26, 1948, then became a member of the Royal Arch Chapter, and progressed to membership of the Scottish Rite Shrine. He served on the State Board of Education for 22 years, he went on to serve as the National Secretary of the State Boards of Education in the late 1960's. He was a member of the Jaycees and a long-time member of the Breakfast Toastmasters Club. Fred served in various positions within the N.M. Society of Certified Public Accounts, serving as president in the 1950's. He was a charter member of The Exchange Club of Albuquerque serving in various positions including president within the chapter over the last 44 years. Fred taught at the University of New Mexico and after teaching, worked at Sandia National Laboratories. Services will be held Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 114 Carlisle Blvd. SE, with Rev. Chris Lieberman officiating. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark, Gary, Roger, Robert, Joseph, Jeffrey, Michael, Riley and Ryan Comstock. Memorial contributions may be made to Vista Care Sandia Hospice, c/o Vista Care, 5201 Venice NE, Ste.
