Garcia -- Mr. Fidel M. Garcia, 89, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on December 27, 1998. Mr. Garcia is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Mrs. Antonia Garcia. He is also survived by five daughters, Rose Chavez, Lupe Lovato and husband, Jimmy, Gabriella Nieto and husband, Dan, Margo Yurgae and Bud Anna Marie and husband, John Pearson; eight sons, Rudy Garcia and wife, Frances, Bobby Garcia and wife, Alice, Fidel Garcia, Jr. and wife, Mary Ann, Joe Garcia and wife, Julia, James Garcia and wife, Esther, Lawrence Garcia and wife, Pauline, Herman Garcia and Molly and David Garcia and wife, Debbie; five brothers, Ross Garcia and wife, Tillie, Fabricio Garcia and wife, Laura, Pete Garcia and wife, Lucinda, Oscar Garcia and wife, Helen, and Henry Garcia; 56 grandchildren; 96 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Garcia was a member of the Catholic Church, outstanding community leader in the Democratic Party, devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday evening, 7:30 p.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griegos NW, with visitation at the church after 6:15 p.m. Gabriella Nieto will recite the Rosary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning, 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Gaudalupe Church with final viewing at the church after 10:30 a.m. Father Richard Olona, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ed Sandoval, Felix Pedroncelli, Vincent Garcia, John Martinez, Leroy Garcia and Leo Chavez. Honorary will be Patrick Garcia, Rudy Garcia, Jr., Ricky Telles, James Lovato, Sam Jojola, David Garcia and Gilbert Gallegos. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW, in charge of the arrangements.
