Shaver -- Benjamin O. Shaver, born May 16, 1917 in Lynne, Utah, died May 6, 1998 in Albuquerque after a long struggle with cancer. A 1941 Mechanical Engineering graduate of the University of Utah, Mr. Shaver's distinguished career included the Puget Sound Navy Yard, the Bureau of Reclamation, and 27 years with the General Electric Company in Richland, WA and San Jose, CA. After he retired in 1981, he became more involved with Willow Glen Methodist Church and his community. In 1996 he and Aldyne, his wife of 56 years, moved to Albuquerque to be near their children and grandchildren. He could spend many hours exploring the area, enjoying the clear air, the cloud formations and sunsets. His zest for life and love for his fellow man endeared him to his new neighbors on the West Side. His faith in God and words of wisdom and inspiration touched the hearts of everyone he knew. He will truly be missed. Ben is survived by is wife, Aldyne; daughters, Susan Caldwell and husband, Mark of Olympia, WA, and Sandra Hildner and husband, Richard of Albuquerque; sister, Josephine V. Bernhisel of Salt Lake City, UT; grandchildren, James and Tamara Anderson, Laura Caldwell, Nancy Foley and husband, Richard, Charles Hildner and wife, Cyd and Ronald Hildner and wife, Pamela; great-granddaughter, Sylver Foley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
