Cummings -- Lucy Lee Ward Cummings, beloved wife and mother passed to her reward on Saturday, November 14, 1998. She was a resident of Albuquerque since 1958. She is survived by her husband, Donald H. Cummings, M.D.; sons, Christopher Cummings and wife, Barbara, Mark Cummings, Phillip Cummings and wife, Donna, and Bruce Cummings and wife, Mary; grandchildren, Brandon, Shaun, Ben, Drew, Alex, and Emilyann; sister-in-law, Ricki Ward Degges, brother-in-law, David Cummings; sister-in-law, Dorothy Brincefield; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Chester and John Ward. Mrs. Cummings was born on Sunday, December 16, 1923 in Washington, D.C., the daughter of Colonel John M. and Lucille B. Ward. She attended Florida State College for women and George Washington University. She worked for the U.S. Army Map Service as a cartographer during World War II. She was active in the Alliance Francaise and also a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, November 18, 1998, 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas NE, with Deacon Sandy Hall. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, November 19, 1998, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Fr. Francis Eggert, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society-Rio Grande, 2015 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112. French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE.
