Burton -- Mr. Robert E. Burton, 68, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully at home in the arms of his loving family on March 7, 1998. Mr. Burton is the beloved husband of 36 years to Mrs. Marie N. Burton. He is also survived by his son, Rick Burton and wife, Linda; his loving mother, Maurine Griffin; three grandchildren, Christopher, Julian and Robert; aunts, Bessie Dial and Sue Crwekmore; seven sisters-in-law, Dora Jaramillo, Carmen Gallegos, Josie Lambert, Ida O'Guinn, Mary Lou C de Baca and husband, Bobby, Mary Alice Williams and husband, Roger and Cecilia Landholm and husband, Rick. He is preceded in death by his father, James S. Burton. Mr. Burton was a member of the Catholic Church, a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in the Korean Conflict, a member of the Post 99 and active with the bingo at Holy Ghost Church. A Rosary will be recited Sunday evening at 7:00 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 833 Arizona SE, with visitation at the church after 6:30. Deacon Torres will recite the Rosary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday morning at 10:00 at Holy Ghost Church with Father Joe Vigil, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael C de Baca, Jeff Landholm, Charles Jaramillo, Leroy Jaramillo, Roger Dale Williams and Alfonso Gallegos. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert C de Baca, Rick Landholm, Ed Gailbreath and Roger Williams. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW, in charge of the arrangements.
