Owens -- Donald I. Owens, 43, a resident of Belen, passed away on November 14, 1999. Donald served over 20 years in the United States Airforce. He worked for over six years in the Rio Grande Volunteer Fire Department and served as the Fire Chief for one year. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Jr. Owens; grandfathers, Chester L. Owens and Alfred Porter. Donald is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Julie Owens of the family home in Belen; his son, Brian Owens and his wife, Marion; his grandson, Kyan Owens; his mother, Jean Owens; grandmother, Lucille Porter; his sister, Jan Domeier and her husband, Scott; nieces, Elizabeth, Amanda, Samantha; one Godson, Alexander John. Donald is also survived by his many close relatives and friends in Minnesota. A Funeral service will be held on Monday, 10:00 a.m., at Romero Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
