Bienko -- Sophie Bienko, 79, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 17 years, passed away on Friday, March 5, 1999. Sophie was born July 19, 1919, and raised in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Adam and Antonette (Habacinski) Tomczak. She had worked as a Assistant Supervisor for Mohawk Liquors Bottling Co. for 17 years. Sophie was a member of a number of organizations, Alley Cats #555, DAV Auxiliary #5, Felician Sister Auxiliary, The Ladies Military order of the Purple Heart Auxiliary Chapter 1966. She is survived by her husband, Stanly J. Bienko of Rio Rancho; nieces, Theresa Budge, Bernadatte Konpka, Maxine Morris, Sheryl Kennedy; nephews, Thomas Bienko, Max Bienko, and Anthony Wojtowicz all from Michigan; sister-in-law, Angeline Galwas of Rio Rancho, NM. There will be visitation on Monday, March 8, 1999 starting at 2:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde. A mass of Christian Burial will be said on Tuesday, March 9, 1999 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Arrangements by Vista Verde Memorial Park, Sara at Meadowlark, Rio Rancho, NM.
