Wicks -- Riley Jackson (Jack) Wicks was born on January 29, 1929 in Durham, NC to Norman and Mary Elizabeth Wicks. He passed away peacefully at home on February 28, 1999. Jack is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Norma; daughter, Linda; son, Michael and wife, Laura; sister-in-law, Betty Wicks and numerous other close relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Harold. In spite of many years of debilitating chronic health problems, Jack had a zest for life that was an example and inspiration to all who knew him. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Thursday, March 4 ,10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with services following at 12:00 noon, with Chaplain Lem Boyles officiating. Pallbearers will be Michael Wicks, Members of Fleet Reserve Assoc. 200: Don Fullbright, Leo McCann, Darwin Hamilton, Gene Vandivenor, Verne Maresh, Doyle Hensley, and Dell Calvert. Interment will take place at 2:30 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
