Sachs -- Martin F. Sachs, 92, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 11, 1999 at his daughter's home in Albuquerque, where he had resided since 1995. Prior to that, he was a lifelong resident of Belen, where he was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. He was involved in the Belen Public School System, both as a teacher and principal until he retired after 45 years of service. Martin was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, who passed away July 2nd of 1998; and his parents, Henry and Felipita Sachs; four brothers, Samuel, Henry II, Ignacio, and Tony; one sister, Margaret Gallegos. Martin has left behind two daughters, Angeline Velasquez and husband, Robert of Albuquerque, Mary Ann Jaramillo and husband, Gillie of Los Lunas; ten grandchildren, Renee Sachs, Gilbert Jaramillo, Nadine Gurule, Antherese Mulryan and husband, Gary, all of Albuquerque, Analee Kuidis and husband, Gary, Martin Jaramillo and wife, Cynthia, all of Los Lunas, Leanne Velasquez, Celeste Cruise and husband, John of Denver, CO, Mary Ann Sorenson and husband, Brad of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Robert Martin Velasquez of Tennessee. Martin is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Parish Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daniel Vallejos, Henry Sachs III, M. Andrew Garrison, Martin Jaramillo, Larry Gurule, and Robert Velasquez.
