Martin -- Mary S. Martin, 59, a resident of New Mexico most of her life, died Sunday, August 29, 1999. Mary was born in Topeka, Kansas, January 24, 1940, to S. Elwood and Florence Wells Stewart. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mildred Crocker; and her daughter, Cynthia A. Martin. She is survived by her sister, Myrtle Beem and husband, Bill; her brother, Clyde Stewart and wife, Ida Jo; her former husband, beloved friend, Chuck Martin, and by special friend, Marilyn Wacherbarth. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. Mary was the manager of Johnstone Supply of Albuquerque for the past 18 years. She was an active member of the Albuquerque Del Sol Rotary Club. Mary was a kind and generous person, and had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed an active life. Her many activities included traveling, cross-country skiing, reading, and playing bridge. She also dearly loved her many pets through the years, one of whom survives her. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 3, 1999, at Vista Verde Memorial Park and Mortuary, 4310 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sunrise Society, 891-8200. Disposition of the remains will take place in the Rose Garden at Vista Verde Memorial Park and Mortuary, immediately following the service.
