Benavidez -- Joe D. Benavidez, 61, passed away August 28, 1999. He was born in Polvadera, New Mexico and retired from The City of Albuquerque in 1993 from the Suntran Bus Company Division. Joe is survived by his wif,e Isabel of Rio Rancho, NM; mother, Della Benavidez of Socorro, NM; son, Joe Benavidez Jr. and wife, Lisa of Albuquerque; daughters, Mary Elizabeth Benavidez, Diana Benavidez, and Debra Benavidez, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Joe Daniel III, Jon Marcus, and Elizabeth Benavidez, all of Albuquerque; brother, Cooney Benavidez, and wife Bernice; and niece, Helynn, all of Socorro, NM; and numerous other family and friends who loved and will miss him. Services will be August 31, 1999, 10:30 a.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, 1502 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7500 Paseo Del Norte NE. Pallbearers will be Toby Garcia, Richard Lopez, Fred Lopez, Norman Leyba, Mark Lucero, and Juan Silva. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St. NW, Albuquerque, NM 343-8008.
