Steele -- Lonnie Ann Steele, 48, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away June 25, 1999 at 9:40 a.m. Lonnie was preceded in death by her parents, George Vesti and Patricia Stelle and is survived by her immediate family, Lynn Allensworth, Stacey Tuttle, Kerri and Trace Peck and Brooke Allensworth; her sister, Carol Ussery and nephews, Kevin Kees and Ryan Ussery; five aunts, Peggy Sena, Mary Sandoval, Maryann Sanchez, Sister Raphael Garcia, Rosalie Aragon; and also by many extended family members and friends who were touched and changed through her love, caring and teaching. Lonnie will be missed greatly by the students and faculty at Manzano High School where she was a cherished teacher and coach. A memorial service will be held to celebrate Lonnie's life and contribution to our community on Wednesday, June 30, 1999, 7:00 p.m., at Manzano High School's Performing Arts Center, (12200 Lomas Blvd. NE). It will be an informal occasion and anyone who wishes will be able to share how Lonnie touched their lives. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Lonnie Steele Memorial Scholarship Fund, Attn: Nancy Dinges, Manzano High School, 12200 Lomas Blvd. NE.
