Grissom -- Dr. Sarah Emily Dirck Grissom, 96, formerly of Alamogordo, NM, gently passed away Friday, April 30, 1999 at home. Dr. Grissom was born in Stokely, Missouri on November 6, 1902. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. E.A. Grissom; and her grandson, Paul Grissom. She is survived by her children, Jacqueline O'Neal and E.A. Grissom, (USMC, Ret.); seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Dr. Grissom taught school in Missouri. After she was married, she and her husband moved to New Mexico and she received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree. She also worked for and retired from civil service as an accountant at Holloman AFB, NM. Her memorial will be at the downtown Presbyterian Hospital chapel at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4, 1999. She will be buried in Alamogordo with her husband. She will be greatly missed by her family.
