Diaz -- Samuel A. Diaz, 83, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 1999, at his home in Socorro, NM. He was born March 31, 1915 in San Marcial, NM to Luis B. and Luz Alderete Diaz. He is survived by his sons, John Diaz of Bayard, NM and Donald Diaz of Socorro, NM; daughters, Rosella Diaz of Albuquerque, NM, Hope Rodriguez of Scottsdale, AZ, and Gloria Diaz-Herron of Socorro, NM; brother, Fidel Diaz of Socorro, NM; sisters, Amalia Chavez of Albuquerque, NM, Luisa Barreras, Marina Gellegos, Sally Fernandez and Priscilla Torres, all of Socorro, NM; grandchildren, Marian Carr, Elizabeth Diaz, Sandra Tena, John Diaz II, Fidencio Pena, Monica Montano, Michelle Romero, Marlene Gallegos, Trudes Rodriguez, Billy Herron, Sammy Herron, Siothan Herron, Amanda Diaz, Alyssa Diaz; 13 great grandchildren, and other relatives and friends. Rosary will be recited Sunday, January 10, at 7:00 p.m. at the San Miguel Catholic Church in Socorro. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, January 11, at 12:00 p.m. at San Miguel with Father Bill Sanchez at Celerant. Interment will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Albuquerque. Pallbearers are, Billy-Sam Diaz Herron, Samuel Diaz Herron, Fidencio Pena, John Diaz II, Johnny Barreras and Johnny Trujillo. Honorary Pallbearers are, Tony Gallegos, David Torres, Louis Barreras, Alfred Fernandez and Felix Barreras. Arrangments by Steadman-Hall Funeral Home, Socorro, NM.
