Bassett -- Ralph A. Bassett, age 85, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, passed away on January 3, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jeanette of Albuquerque; daughter, Jean Evins of Fort Worth, TX; two sons, Ralph A. Bassett and wife, Maryann of Albuquerque, and Robert A. Bassett; brother, Charlie Bassett of Chapel Hill, SC; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. He was a member of University Heights United Methodist Church, I.B.E.W. Local 611, P.N.M. Forerunners Club, at 35 year employee of P.N.M. he played for UNM as a 1/2 back from 1936 to 1939 and letter in track. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Thursday, January 14, 1999 at 1:30 p.m. at University Heights United Methodist Chruch, 2210 Silver SE with Rev. Jon Foster, Officiating. Memorial Contributions may be made to University Heights United Methodist Church, 2210 Silver, SE. Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave, SE in charge of arrangements.
