Diana was known throughout her life for her intelligence, kindness, humor and generosity. Her contributions to the medical field have improved the lives of people throughout the world, and anytime she would sing or play the dulcimer, it was appreciated by all who could hear. After retiring from Upjohn, Diana served as Professional Research Assistant in the Department of Veterinary Pathobiology, School of Veterinary Medicine at Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, also earning an MS in Industrial Hygiene from Purdue. Diana was the author of numerous scientific publications. She recently entered a third phase of her working life, and completed a yet-to-be published novel. Diana was an active member of Unitarian Universalist congregations in Michigan and Indiana. Since moving to Albuquerque in 1997, Diana was active in the West Side Universalist Congregation, where she contributed to the creation of services and the growth of the community. Diana is remembered by her friends and family as a loving wife and mother, a devoted daughter, and loyal friend. She was especially known for her unlimited compassion for people and animals. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Diana is survived by her husband, Richard N. Eisenhour of Albuquerque; sons, Robert L. Schellenberg of Kalamazoo, MI and Dr. Franklin M. Schellenberg of Palo Alto, CA; mother, Reverend Retha L. Sadler of Phoenix, AZ; and brother, Robert Sadler of Grand Rapids, MI. The memorial service for Diana Schellenberg will be held on Friday, June 11, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Unitarian Church of Albuquerque. It was Diana's wish to be an organ donor and she would encourage her friends to do the same. Arrangements by Vista Verde Mortuary, Rio Rancho.
