Davis -- A. Kenton Davis, a resident of Albuquerque for over 40 years, born in Westover, TX, died on Thursday, January 21, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Rosalie Davis of the family home; children, Carolyn McCloud and husband, Ken of Albuquerque, Layne Davis of Palouse, WA, and Paula Chisholm and husband, Tim of Breckenridge, TX; step-children, David Mettauer and wife, Sandy of Palestine, TX, John Mettauer of Oklahoma City, OK, and Mark Mettauer and wife, Linda of Denver, CO; mother, Fannie Davis of Hale Center, TX; grandchildren, David, Brent and wife, Ada, and Chandra McCloud, Shawn, Daryl, and Bryan Chisholm, Beth, and Chris Davis, Sam and Scott Mettauer, Pete, April, Erin and JP Mettauer, and Ben and Matthew Mettauer; great-grandchildren, Brandon, and Rachael McCloud; sister, Kathryn Smith of Hale Center, TX; and brothers, Jerry Davis, of South Plains, TX, Loy Davis of Clarendon, TX, and Thurman Davis of Del Rio, TX. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Betty Davis in 1982, father, Mason Davis in 1977; and brother, Ed Davis. Mr. Davis served his country during World War II, having served with the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a pilot for over 50 years, and was a longtime member of Quiet Birdman. He was a member of Montgomery Blvd. Church of Christ, and the Kiwanis Club where he served as past president. He retired in 1987 from Don Ward and Company. Services will be held Saturday, January 23, 1999, 3:00 p.m. at Montgomery Blvd. Church of Christ, 7201 Montgomery Blvd. NE, with Minister Bruce Thweatt officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be Mr. Davis' grandchildren, David McCloud, Brent McCloud, Shawn Chisholm, Daryl Chisholm, Bryan Chisholm, and Christopher Davis. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas NE, Friday, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Albuquerque Christian Children's Home, 5700 Winter Haven Rd. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120, or to the Boys and Girls Ranch of NM, 6209 Hendrix NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE.
