Chavez -- Alfonso Chavez, beloved husband, father and grandfather, of Santa Fe, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, July 23, 1999, following a seven year battle with leukemia. A man with many blessings and virtues, Mr. Chavez will long be remembered by his devoted family and friends for his strong faith in God, wisdom, strength, sense of humor, and generous heart. He was 79 years old. Alfonso is survived by his beloved wife, Agatha Chavez; brothers, Ernesto and Elfego; sisters, Marcelina, Ruby and Theresa; sons, David, Herman and Louie; daughters, Helen and Annabelle; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, July 27, 2:30 p.m., at Berardinelli Family Funeral Chapel. Visitation will continue at 6:00 p.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church followed by a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 28, 10:30 a.m., at St. Anne Catholic Church.
