Harris -- Harriet K. Harris, 79, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 1999 at her home in Albuquerque. She was the loving wife of Byron H. Harris Sr.; and the mother of Byron H. Harris Jr. and wife, Linda of Dallas, TX and Christopher J. Harris and wife, Nancy of Gig Harbor, WA. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Benjamin and Julie Harris also of Gig Harbor, WA; as well as her sister, Virginia Klein of Albuquerque. She and her husband have been residents of Albuquerque since 1962. She was active with All Faiths Receiving Home, a volunteer at the then Bataan Memorial Hospital, and subsequently served as President of the Auxiliary of the New Mexico Hospital Assoc., in which position she traveled statewide in the organization of numerous hospital auxiliaries. She was an active member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and an avid gardener. A memorial service was held at St. Paul's United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 13, 1999, with Pastor Gerald White officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to All Faiths Receiving Home or St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Sunrise Society served the family of Mrs. Harris, (891-8200).
