Jones -- Walter T."Buzz" Jones, age 89, a resident of Albuquerque for 60 years, passed away on March 13, 1999. He is survived by his son, Robert L. Jones, M.D. of New York City, NY; nieces, Betty Belzer and husband, Bob of Oceanside, CA, Barbara Edwards and husband, Asa of Albuquerque, Annetta Andrews and husband, Russell of Redmond, WA; and numerous nephews and great-nephews. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Albuquerque Country Club and the Four Hills Country Club, Downtown Kiwanis, Masonic Lodge and Ballut Abyad. He was the former President of Rio Grande Steel Company. Mr. Jones graduated from Missouri School of Mines in Engineering and served his country in the U.S. Army in WWII. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, March 23, 1999, 2:00 p.m., at First United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Mexico Boys Ranch, 775 Hwy 304, Belen, NM 87002. Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE, in charge of cremation.
