Burbank -- Harry James Burbank, 69, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on Friday, March 12, 1999. He was born in Memphis, TX on September 25, 1929. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Ruby Burbank. He is survived by his wife, Joann Burbank; daughter, Kimberly Burbank Frick and husband, Thomas; step-children, Ernie, Mike, Lori and Lynn; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; his sister, Jane Hooibrink; and five nieces and nephews. Mr. Burbank served in the United States Air Force for 21 years and afterward was employed at Duncan Aviation in Lincoln, NE until retirement in 1991. Mr. Burbank had many interests, which included holding a private pilots license. He was an Elder at Covenant Christian Church, a member of the choir, and was treasurer of the church and building committee member. He also was a member of Lancaster Masonic Lodge #4, the American Legion, and Promise Keepers. Mr. Burbank was an instructor of English as a second language at Read West and taught computer classes at Meadowlark Senior Center. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 20, 1999, 1:00 p.m., at Covenant Christian Church, 6380 Iris NE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124, with Rev. Reginal Greene and Rev. Scott DeVore officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church.
