Mitchell -- Winifred B."Peggy" Mitchell, a resident of Albuquerque, died on February 8, 1999. She was born in Ukiah, CA on April 13, 1905 and was a resident there until 1989. She was preceded in death by her husband, S. Ewart Mitchell; and daughter, Carol May Mitchell. She is survived by her two sons, Wallace and wife, Pat of Manchester, NH and Donald and wife, Barbara of Albuquerque. She is also survived by five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ukiah. She graduated from College of the Pacific and began teaching in Ukiah schools in 1927. Her career as a devoted teacher spanned over 33 years. After retirement, she traveled extensively throughout the world with her daughter, Carol, visiting every continent but Antarctica, and presented many programs on her trips. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at the Ukiah United Methodist Church on February 20th. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or a charity of your choice.
