Herrera -- Ernest P. Herrera, 84, passed away March 23, 1999. He was born and raised in Las Vegas, New Mexico, and was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, as well as the Guadalupanos. Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, Isidoro and Vincentita Herrera; son, Manuel Lesperance; and daughter, Margie Gallegos. He is survived by his wife, Claudia G. Herrera; sons, Ernie Herrera, Jr., Paul Herrera, Isidor Herrera, Alfonso Herrera, Frank Herrera, Vince Herrera, David Garcia, and Louie Lesperance; daughters, Precsilla Sanchez, Grace Martinez, and Bernadette Apodaca; sister, Phoebe Rangel of California; brother-in-law, Celedonio Garcia of Las Vegas, NM.; sister-in-law, Ruth Cabral and husband, Frank of Hayward, CA; daughter-in-law, Velma Lesperance; son-in-law, Anthony Gallegos; 41 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends who loved and will miss him. Services will be held at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church with a Rosary to be recited at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 26, 1999 and Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 27, 1999. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Isidor, Paul, Vincent and Frankie Herrera, David Garcia, and Louie Lesperance. Honorary pallbearers will be Ernie Herrera, Jr., and Alfonso Herrera. Arrangements by Direct Services, 2919 4th St. NW, 343-8008.
