Greenwell -- James Russell Greenwell passed away April 21, 1999. He was preceded in death by his father, Sylvan D. Greenwell and mother, Kay Russell Greenwell. Jim was born in Vincennes, IN, October 31, 1933. He graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1950 and subsequently joined the US Navy. After a tour of duty in the Mediterranean he returned to New Mexico to apprentice as a journeyman machinist. He lived and worked in New Mexico the remainder of his life. Jim is survived by his son, David Greenwell; daughter-in-law, Betsy; daughter, Cindy Joseph; son-in-law, Patrick; youngest daughter, Renee Glass; son-in-law, David; his stepchildren, Cherryl Greene, Randy Travis, Brett Travis, Robbie Travis, Kari Lynch and their families; his grandchildren, Jessica, Sarah, Dustin, Lane and P.J.; also the soulmate of his life, Ava Lovell and her daughter, Tasha. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors and hospital staff at Lovelace for their loving care."Surely goodness and mercy have followed me all the days of my life and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever." Services will be held Saturday, 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE with Pastor Lemuel Boyles officiating.
