Archuleta -- Florencio Archuleta, age 75, a lifelong resident of El Rito, passed away due to a long illness on Monday, April 12, 1999. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Victorita Archuleta; three brothers, Jose Ramon Archuleta, Armando Archuleta and Celestino Archuleta; two sisters, Eliza Griego, Teodorita Archuleta. Surviving him is his wife, Faustina Archuleta of El Rito; six children, Florencio Archuleta and wife, Elaine of Espanola, Precelano Archuleta and wife, Dee of El Rito, Mary Ann Lopez and husband, Cornelio of El Rito, Charlene Cordova and husband, Alfonso of Albuquerque, Lucia Baca and husband, Joseph of Albuquerque, Nancy Vargas and Victor of Espanola; one brother, Joe Archuleta and wife, Eloisa of Salt Lake City, UT; two sisters, Juanita Archuleta and husband, Margarito of El Rito, Cerila Lucero of El Rito; two sisters-in-law, Mary Vigil and husband, Ben of Grand Junction, CO, Frances Herrera and husband, Felimon of Grand Junction, CO; 20 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 14, 1999, at the San Juan de Nepomuceno Catholic Church in El Rito, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 15, 1999, time pending, also in the San Juan de Nepomuceno Catholic Church in El Rito with Rev. Pat Chavez. Interment will follow in the New El Rito Community Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Cornelio Lopez Jr., Matthew Archuleta, Alfonsito Cordova Jr., J.B. Baca Jr., Jesse Lopez, Celestino Archuleta Jr., Rudy Archuleta Jr., and Freddie Vigil. Honorary pallbearers named are Dennis Martinez, Annie Lopez, Felix Martinez, Neddie Archuleta Sr., Mabel Ocana, Joseph Montano, Janet Medina and Lalo Archuleta.
